11 KV XLPE UG cable using a jointing kit. From safety checks to final testing, every step matters to ensure reliability and safety.

Here’s the process step by step:

1 Safety & Isolation – Power isolated, discharged, and earthed ✔

2 Cable Prepared – Faulty section cut and ends prepared

3 Sheath & Armour Removal – Outer sheath and armour stripped

4 Insulation Cut-back – Screen & XLPE cut to kit dimensions

5 Phase Identification – Used a megger; earthed one end tested the other. Low resistance = correct phase, OL (Over Limit) = not selected

6 Copper Ferrule Crimp – Conductors joined with hydraulic crimping tool

7 Stress Control – Applied stress control tubing/tape to prevent breakdown >

8 Insulation & Sealing – Heat shrink insulation and sealing tubes applied

Armour Continuity – Earth bonding of armour reconnected

10 Final Sealing & Testing – Outer sheath sealed, IR tested, and ready to energize
