PVC Cable Vs XLPE cable

PVC CABLE:-

  • Polyvinyl Chloride It uses a Thermoplastic material Good Electrical insulating Properties & Flexibility
  • Voltage rating up to 600 Volts
  • Used in Residential Wiring.
  • Light duty Industrial application
  • PVC has a lower temperature rating
  • PVC are generally suitable for lower temperature environments such as indoor & Underground installation
  • Lower Mechanical Strength and Thermal Stability
  • Incase of Fault, PVC insulation may melt at Lower Temperature.
  • PVC has good resistance to a variety of Chemicals

XLPE CABLE:-

  • Cross Linked Poly Ethylene
  • It uses Insulation Material Thermosetting Polymer which enhances its thermal mechanical Properties and Voltage Rating between IKV to 35KV
  • Used in industrial & Commercial Power distribution Network
  • XLPE has Better temperature resistance
  • XLPE is suitable for Higher temperature Applications
  • Higher Mechanical Strength and Thermal stability
  • It withstands higher temperatures for a longer duration without melting or Degrading.
  • XLPE generally has better chemical resistance, making it suitable for installations where exposure to chemicals is a concern.
