Heat Exchanger names

Do you know your heat exchanger have name ? Their name is Bemmy, Bekky and etc!!

If you can’t find ut, don’t worry, they don’t have it, they only have 3 letters which make their identity.

The 3 letters are came from TEMA. TEMA stands for the Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association. It is an industry organization that establishes standards, guidelines, and best practices for the design, fabrication, and use of shell-and-tube heat exchangers TEMA provides classifications for heat exchangers based on their application:

TEMA R: Rugged design for severe industrial applications, such as in petroleum or chemical processing.

TEMA C: General-purpose design for commercial applications.

TEMA B: Light-duty design, often used in HVAC or non-industrial settings.

TEMA defines nomenclature for the components of shell-and-tube heat exchangers which typically consist of 3 elements

1. Front-end head type: Indicates the type of connection on the tube side (e.g., A, B, C, etc.).

2. Shell type: Indicates the type of shell design (e.g., E, F, G, etc.).

3. Rear-end head type: Indicates the tube-side return (e.g., L, M, N, etc.).

Example: A heat exchanger labeled BEM means:

• B: Bonnet (front-end head).

• E: One-pass shell.

• M: Fixed tubesheet (rear-end head).

So here come the Bemmy. What is your exchanger name?
