✔Calibrating for Axial Displacement
- The target voltage outputs are different for active and inactive thrust bearings:
- Active side: 8 VDC
- Inactive side: 12 VDC
2.To achieve these target voltages, adjust the distance between the probe tip and the shaft accordingly.
✔Calibrating for Radial Displacement
- Adjust the distance between the probe tip and the shaft.
- While adjusting, measure the output voltage (DC).
- Set 10V as the reference value.
✔ Monitoring bearing wear: As the thrust bearing wears, the distance between the probe tip and the shaft might change. The difference in target voltages (4V) could be set to create a larger output voltage change that’s easier to detect by the monitoring system, indicating potential bearing wear.
