Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Basically what we mean by PPE is all the equipment which can be worn or held by a person at work which will protect him against various accidents, burns , and any kind of hazards.

Types of PPE :-

1. Safety shoe
2. Safety goggles
3. Gloves
4. Safety helmets
5. Hearing protection
6. Safety harness

Before selecting a PPE;

1. is it appropriate to the risk which can be involved
2. will it prevent the risk
3. is it adjustable to wear properly without discomfort ?
4. if need more than 1 item ?

i.Eye protection :-

ii.Hand and Arm Protection :-

These expenses should be held by the company not the employee. its employers responsibility to offer them . They should be given proper training to how to wear, how to dispose, how to use, how to protect them how to act in case of an emergency, what are the limitations of elements .

OHS officer should be responsible for

2. puchasing
3. invetigations
4. signs

Make sure your PPEs are CE marked and prepared under PPE regulations.
