Transformer monitoring and maintenance procedure

Transformer monitoring and maintenance.

1. Preparation work before transformer commissioning

1) Relevant work tickets have been collected, temporary measures have been removed, and fixed safety measures and high-voltage danger signs have been restored;

2) Check that the oil pillow and oil level gauge should be normal, and there should be no oil leakage in all parts;

3) There should be no cracks or discharge in the bushing;

4) Whether the valve of the pressure release device is in operation;

5) Whether the silica gel of the moisture absorber has changed color;

6) The glass window of the gas relay is clean and complete, and there is no gas in the window;

7) The fan of the main transformer is running normally, and there is no oil leakage in the radiator;

8) The body should be clean, without debris on the top, the shell grounding wire should be firm, and the flange should be complete

9) The transmitter indicates the correct position;

10) Check the test report to meet the power transmission requirements.

2. In addition to the inspection items before commissioning, daily inspections should also carry out the following inspections:

1) Whether the busbar bridge joints on both sides of the main transformer are overheated;

2) The upper oil temperature indication is normal;

3) Whether the main transformer is overloaded.

3. Transformers put into operation for the first time after overhaul must be checked every 2 hours in the first 8 hours after being put into operation. Transformers running under overload should be monitored more closely.

4. When the climate changes suddenly, the following inspections should be carried out:-

1) In strong winds, check whether the upper lead of the transformer swings violently and whether it is loose, and whether there is any debris on the top;
2) In heavy snow, check whether the bushing and joints melt immediately after snow falls and generate hot air
3) In foggy days, check whether the bushing has flashover discharge
4) In case of extreme cold or heat, check the oil pillow, oil level and temperature changes.

5. When the transformer is changed from operation to standby, the light and heavy gas protections are connected to the signal as usual, so as to detect the oil level drop of the transformer in time and add oil in time.

6. When filtering or adding oil to the transformer in operation, the heavy gas protection should be connected to the signal, and other relay protections (such as differential protection, compound locking overcurrent, zero sequence protection) should still be put into operation.

7. When the oil level rises abnormally, the heavy gas protection board should be changed to the signal position before opening various plugs for venting or draining oil, cleaning the holes of the respirator or performing other work to prevent the gas relay from tripping due to malfunction.
